JOB DESCRIPTION
:
  • The post-holder works within Nepal earthquake response programme of the International Department and is key to providing support to the humanitarian response to Nepal Earthquake. The post-holder works with Senior Programme Manager to develop new partnerships build programme strategy for Nepal response programme and ensure the emergency response is coordinated effectively in line with Christian Aid’s strategy and humanitarian policies and in compliance with donor requirements.
  • The post-holder will be stationed in Kathmandu, Nepal with frequent travel to programme areas. Though primarily assigned to the location designated, the role may be called up to cover and support other locations as the need arises.
  • The successful applicant should be able to speak and write English fluently and have experience working in emergency and/or development contexts in Nepal.
  • Relevant experience supporting emergency project/programmes which work with and through local partners; and developing and implementing best practices and capacity building partners.
  • In addition she/he must have knowledge of major institutional donors and an understanding of how the international development sector operates. The applicant should have knowledge and experience on the application of the Sphere standards,  Red Cross Code of Conduct and Humanitarian Accountability Partnership standards; is experienced in data collection and reporting (including basic financial reports e.g.,  working with and monitoring budgets and using spreadsheet for financial analysis and management).
